Meet our Board of Advisers

Our team of experts have owned and managed their own small businesses, run networking groups, led small business industry associations, worked with government and more, and will work with us on the following areas:

  • Shaping the direction of new and existing advocacy campaigns
  • Sharing ideas on new initiatives and offers for our community
  • Answering questions from our members based on their area of expertise

David Koch

David Koch is an Australian television presenter best known as a host of the Seven Network's breakfast program Sunrise. He has presented over 100 episodes of a weekly small business program on the Seven Network, Business Builders, which helps private business owners improve their business.

Robert Gerrish

Robert Gerrish is the founder of Flying Solo, Australia’s solo and micro business community and co-author of the business bestseller, Flying Solo: How to go it alone in business. He presents the Flying Solo Podcast and has been a business commentator on ABC Four Corners, A Current Affair, Sky Business, Fairfax Digital, 2UE and ABC Radio. 


Julia Bickerstaff

Julia Bickerstaff is a business author, writer, speaker, thinker, adviser and coach. She creates and curates business recipes and is the founder of The Business Bakery. She also facilitates strategic planning sessions for medium sized businesses, writes for a number of digital publications and gives keynote talks on subjects such as pricing and profitability for small businesses.

Peter Strong

Peter Strong is the CEO of the Council of Small Business of Australia  and has been in this role since June 2010. The role requires advocacy for the Small Business community and representation of issues from members to politicians and government agencies.

Tim Harcourt

Tim Harcourt, The Airport Economist, is the J.W. Nevile Fellow in Economics at the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales. An experienced economics commentator and globetrotter, Tim was also for over a decade, the first chief economist of the Australian Trade Commission.
