Did you know that a small business with 6-20 employees spends about $1,230 a quarter on just electricity?
It’s no wonder then, that a Canstar survey comparing leading electricity retailers for small businesses, found two-thirds of the business owners think of electricity costs as a major pain point.
Interestingly, while four out of five businesses surveyed have tried to cut back on power usage to save money, almost half (48%) of small business owners compare electricity prices every year to ensure they’re on the best deal in the market.
To make this comparison a little bit easier, Canstar Blue surveyed over 500 small business owners and key decision-makers across Australia to find out which electricity provider is leading the pack on customer satisfaction.
When asked what’s most important to small business customers while comparing energy providers, here’s what they had to say:
- Value for money: 24%
- Billing (e.g. clarity and accuracy): 21%
- Customer service: 21%
- Online experience: 14%
- Availability of payment plan options: 12%
- Electricity efficiency information and advice: 8%
And finally, here’s presenting the top providers based on ratings by the people who’re paying the bills.
#1. EnergyAustralia. Power giant, EnergyAustralia, was the only provider to bag five stars for overall customer satisfaction, taking over from AGL at the top of the table. For small businesses looking to cut electricity and gas costs, EnergyAustralia is offering exclusive discounts (up to 37%) on your energy plans PLUS a gift card valued up to $250 for Small Business First customers.
