Small business owners are always so busy driving their business forward that they often overlook the most important asset of their business - their own health and well-being!
In recognition of their hard work, Small Business First and Moula held a competition where you could nominate your favourite small business for a LuxuryEscapes.com holiday to Tasmania - a four night all-inclusive Tasmanian escape for two at the multi award-winning Saffire Freycinet.
“At Moula, we believe in doing everything we can to help these businesses grow. We love supporting small business owners and are excited to be able to reward the winner of this competition with a well deserved break,” Aris Allegos, CEO of Moula.
And now, it’s time to announce the winner!
As expected, we were flooded with fantastic nominations with inspiring stories of passion, hard work, sleepless nights, determination and most of all, community support. We’ve had a tough time deciding the winners but without further ado, here they are: Renae and Roy Kunda from Cape York Motorcycle Adventures!
Renae and Roy have been running their family business of operating fully guided off road dirtbike tours in Far Northern Queensland, Australia for 25 years. We’re happy to announce that they’ll be able to take a well-deserved luxury break with each other.
Renae and Roy received 5 nominations from their family and community members. Let’s take a look at what their supporters have to say about them:
By Emmy Kunda: "I nominate my parents Renae and Roy Kunda, celebrating the 25th birthday of Cape York Motorcycle Adventures. These two have worked their entire lives and dedicated it to the business, the family and the community! Would be good to send them away since they also worked through their 21st wedding anniversary this year."
By Shannon Robson: "I nominate Renae and Roy Kunda - owners & operators of Cape York Motorcycle Adventures. Roy & Renae have worked tirelessly building this business for the last 25 years. They deserve a trip away to reward them for their efforts building a business & serving the community that they are part of."
By Julia-Rose Satre: "I would like to nominate Renae Kunda and Roy Kunda from Cape York Motorcycle Adventures for all their hard work and contributions to the local community in Cairns. Their support and love has always been deeply appreciated and I believe they should win this trip because they have dedicated their lives to this business and deserve recognition for that."
By Helena Clarke: "I nominate Renae and Roy Kunda of Cape York Motorcycle adventures in Cairns North Queensland. For the past 25 years this pair have been running this dynamic adventure tourism based business. Roy is the guy who takes his customers to places that those of us limited to 4 wheels can only dream about, unfortunately this means he is away, a lot!! The family celebrations and special times that these 2 have been apart for in 25 years cannot be measured. They are both very deserving of this reward."
By Aleisha Service: "I would like to nominate Roy & Renae Kunda from cape York motorcycles for all their hard work and effort put into the community or Cairns. They are both hard working, lovely and giving people who deserve some time away as I know they haven't had a joint holiday or break together and are well overdue for one. They deserve this holiday and would be so greatfull."
CYMCA has won a number of awards for business and adventure tourism and was also the world’s first motorcycle tour company to be Eco-Certified in Australia.
While we only have one holiday to give away at this time, we’ve been extremely touched by all the nominations and want to thank everyone who took the time to nominate and support a local businesses.
“There are so many hardworking people out there, grinding out the hard yards through thick and thin. We celebrate the billionaires, but forget how everyday people work so, so hard to make it happen, not just for themselves but for their employees and their families. We salute all the businesses nominated and thank Moula and LuxuryEscapes.com for making this competition possible,” said Rajhev Rajkumar, General Manager at Small Business First.
